Responsible sourcing

Trust is built through disciplined transaction practices.

Industrial metals trading can involve complex materials, multiple jurisdictions and specialized service providers. Our approach begins with knowing who we are dealing with, what the material is and where it is going.

01

Know the counterparty

Confirming legal identity, business role, relevant ownership information and the authority to transact.

02

Understand the material

Requesting available composition, form, photographs, SDS or analysis and identifying material-specific risks.

03

Establish origin and ownership

Reviewing source, country of origin, chain of custody and lawful ownership information appropriate to the transaction.

04

Screen transaction risk

Considering sanctions, destination, parties, transport requirements and escalation factors before execution.

05

Maintain documentation

Retaining commercial and supporting records appropriate to the nature, value and risk profile of the transaction.

06

Use qualified providers

Working with appropriately qualified processors, carriers, brokers and technical providers where their services are required.

A risk-based approach

Requirements are proportional to the material and transaction.

Documentation needs can vary depending on whether a material is a product, secondary raw material, recyclable material or regulated waste. Artios evaluates transactions individually and may request additional evidence, independent analysis or specialist input before proceeding.

Artios does not knowingly accept materials without lawful ownership, adequate description or a commercially and legally appropriate downstream route.
